This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Bart, who came all the way from Belgium to take on the Ironman Tours Métropole challenge: 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.2 km of running. Just that!
As for me, last year I swapped my Villa host’s cap for a competitor’s bib at the Luxembourg Half Ironman — half the distances, but a full 100% effort guaranteed.
The result: two finisher medals, two big smiles, and a shared conviction that the best thing after an ordeal like that is the calm of beautiful countryside, the pool and a plancha barbecue with friends.
