How many guests can Villa des Lys accommodate?
Up to 12 guests, across 5 bedrooms (Balzac, Klimt, Diane, Da Vinci, Calder).
How many bedrooms and bathrooms are there?
5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms: the Balzac, Klimt and Calder bedrooms each have their own en-suite bathroom, while the Diane and Da Vinci bedrooms share a large bathroom upstairs. This layout is exactly what makes the villa perfect for groups (#GroupGîte #LargeCapacityGîte): three families of four for a weekend with friends, or grandparents inviting their children and grandchildren.
Is the pool heated all year round?
Yes, the villa has a heated indoor pool, usable all year round whatever the season.
Does the gîte have a sauna?
Yes, a sauna is built into the relaxation area, right next to the pool.
What leisure activities are available on site?
A large pool table, a table-tennis table, board games, a badminton set, and a large wooded garden to enjoy outdoors.
Is the gîte wheelchair accessible?
Yes: the ground floor, including the Balzac bedroom, is designed to welcome wheelchair users. Villa des Lys holds the French "Tourisme & Handicap" accessibility label.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, your pets are welcome. Please note, however, that the property gate stays open, so pets need to be watched whenever they are outside.
Which Loire châteaux can be reached from the villa?
Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau and Langeais are about 15 minutes away; other iconic châteaux (Chenonceau, Amboise, Chambord…) are 45 minutes to 1h30 away. Full details by château are on our Activities page.
How long does it take to reach the main tourist sites?
It depends on the site: allow 15 minutes for the closest châteaux, up to 1h30 for the furthest. Our Activities page lists travel times, wine tourism and family outings (Futuroscope, Beauval zoo).
Is the villa suitable for a family stay with children?
Yes: the wooded garden, secure indoor pool, pool table and table tennis are enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Can we hold a company seminar at Villa des Lys?
Yes: every bedroom has a desk and fibre internet. The dining table can be moved to face a smart TV that connects to a computer, turning it into the meeting-room screen — all the cables are provided.
What is the minimum length of stay?
It depends on the time of year: check our booking calendar. The minimum is two nights, and during French school holidays bookings are usually by the week.
Is bed linen provided? Is there a cleaning fee?
Yes to both: bed linen, a hand towel and a bath towel are provided for every guest, and the end-of-stay cleaning is included too. Everything is covered, with no extra charge.
What kitchen equipment is available?
A fully equipped open kitchen: oven, microwave, induction hobs, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Tableware is provided in ample quantity, along with fun cooking appliances (waffle maker, fondue set, raclette grill…).
Is there parking on site?
Yes: 4 private parking spaces, including an 11kW electric charging station.
Is the villa suitable for family gatherings or birthdays?
Yes: its large indoor and outdoor spaces make it a popular choice for family celebrations and reunions.
